New Cadillac Escalade 2022 Interior, Price, Review

New Cadillac Escalade 2022 Interior, Price, Review – In a culture where bigger generally means better, the Cadillac Escalade 2022 is an all-American prize-winner. Few vehicles claim “You’ve made it!” as boldly as this enormous lounge on wheels – but you’ll need to make it first if you want to afford this $80k SUV. With a powerful V8 engine under the hood, directing 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque to your choice of rear or all four wheels, the Escalade has no trouble getting around, but it’ll need a steady supply of premium gasoline to keep moving.

Cadillac Escalade 2022 Redesign

Exterior Design

With its chunky design, the Cadillac Escalade 2022 certainly isn’t for everyone, but it’s the motoring equivalent of the kind of bling you’d expect to see around the neck of chart-topping rappers like Jay-Z or 2 Chainz. It’s big, it’s bold, and it certainly won’t be ignored. Essentially little more than a large box on equally large 20-inch wheels, the Caddy comes with an enormous chrome grille and blocky automatic LED headlights and daytime running lights. Every model aside from the base Standard rides on even larger 22-inch wheels, uniquely styled to the specific trim. They also get a power sunroof, with the top-tier Platinum sporting power-retractable assist steps lit by LED clusters. If the standard aesthetics aren’t to your liking, you can opt for a Galvano surround grille with silver mesh with the Radiant Package, which is available to all but the top-tier Platinum trim.

Interior Design

Designed essentially to be a mobile lounge, the Cadillac Escalade 2022 doesn’t disappoint when you step inside. The interior is spacious, with standard leather upholstery and seating for up to seven. Even the extensive list of standard features, like tri-zone climate control, keyless entry and ignition, a comprehensive infotainment suite, and plenty of available advanced driver aids, couldn’t make this large SUV feel cluttered. The control panel may be a bit daunting at first, though, and the infotainment system could be more user-friendly.

The non-base trims get access to a power sunroof, which helps the Escalade feel even roomier, while the similarly available rear-seat entertainment system means you’ll always have an onboard babysitter for long drives with impatient kids. Build quality could be a bit better but, overall, the inside of the large Caddy is always a comfortable place to be.

Cadillac Escalade 2022 Engine

Check under the hood of any Cadillac Escalade 2022 model, and you’ll find a 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. Mated to this is a ten-speed automatic gearbox that directs the high outputs to either the rear wheels or all four, depending on the drivetrain you opt for. Either way, the powertrain never struggles to move the two-and-a-half-ton juggernaut around town. The transmission is smooth and decisive, always using enormous amounts of torque to keep the SUV moving without lag. Getting through traffic is never a problem, and while the Caddy may take a little while to get up to speed, it doesn’t struggle to merge or pass on the highway with a single downshift from the gearbox and oodles of torque available at any rev range.

You might not expect an SUV the size of a small tank to move quickly, but the potent 420-hp V8 powering the Escalade gives it a surprising amount of zest. That’s not to say you should try drag racing with the muscle cars downtown, but the Caddy can hold its own around the city, and it never wants for power when needed. When pushed to perform, the engine growls ominously and launches the two-tonner up to 60 mph in around six seconds, according to the manufacturer. Equipped with the standard rear-wheel drivetrain, the Escalade can tow a whopping 8,300 lbs, while the heavier all-wheel drivetrain drops the maximum capacity to 8,100 lbs to keep with GVWR limits. Regardless, both configurations stomp the competition, with rivals like the Chevrolet Tahoe and Lincoln Navigator maxing out in the mid-6,000 pound range.

Cadillac Escalade 2022 Release Date And Price

If you want to get behind the wheel of the Cadillac Escalade 2022 most premium SUV, you better be willing to lay out some serious dough. The cheapest model in the range is the Standard trim, which goes for a less-than-modest $75,195. Each subsequent model climbs in price steadily, with the Luxury trim going for $80,795 and the Premium Luxury for $85,195. The top-tier Platinum model is a bit cheaper than last year, due to some standard features being dropped from the list, so you can pick it up for a mere $92,295 – sarcasm intended. Every model is available with an all-wheel drivetrain, assuming you’re willing to tack on an extra $3,000. These prices exclude tax, licensing, registration, and Cadillac’s $1,295 destination charge.
