New 2022 Cadillac XT4 Interior, Changes, Price – The 2022 Cadillac XT4 main problem is its late arrival in the luxury compact crossover segment. Since 2003, when BMW introduced the first-generation X3, this particular segment has existed. Shortly after, the rest of the German manufacturers followed suit, with the Brits following closely. As a result, this segment has become very popular in America. Most luxury compact crossovers are now in their second or third generation.
This gives them ample time to establish a name for themselves. Cadillac entered this segment in 2019, but it did so with a decent car. Although it feels more like an SUV than an SUV, this is not necessarily bad. Cadillac XT4 is a comfortable cruiser with a turbocharged 4-pot engine with 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque under the hood. Cadillac will be adding more features to the standard features, which is a good thing. The XT4 is a great car. But is it enough to attract customers away from competitors like the Acura RDX or the Audi Q3 and the BMW X1 instead?
2022 Cadillac XT4 Redesign
Exterior Design
The XT4 is hard to mistake for anything other than a Cadillac. Caddy’s design language was distilled to make a smaller version of the XT5 or the Escalade. All models come with LED headlights, tail lamps, dual exhausts, and 18-inch wheels. Premium Luxury and Sport come with a power sunroof. The Sport has front cornering lights. Premium Luxury trims feature satin aluminum items, while Sport trims have gloss-black roof rails and a lower fascia accent. Additional options include alloys up to 20 inches, a power sunroof, and other appearance packages.

The 2022 Cadillac XT4 measures 181.1 inches in length and has a wheelbase measuring 109.4 inches. The mirrors folded measure 76.7 inches in width and have a minimum ground clearance of 6.7 inches. Luxury models are 63.2 inches high, while Premium Luxury and Sport measure 64.1 inches. The curb weight of the standard Luxury model with front-wheel drive is 3,660 pounds. Each model is approximately 200 lbs heavier with the all-wheel-drive system. The FWD Premium Luxury is 3,691 lbs, and the FWD Sport is 3,710. The AWD Sport is the heaviest model, at 3,896 lbs.
Interior Design
While there are some aspects we love about the interior, others are not. However, two positive aspects are worth mentioning. First, the interior is spacious and minimalist, with plenty of space. Second, the XT4 also has a lot of standard features, even the base model. Again, this is something that we love about a luxury vehicle such as the XT4.

Base Luxury trim features an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and six-way front passenger seat. It also has dual-zone climate control, active sound canceling, and a gorgeous touchscreen display. Premium Luxury and Sport models have ambient interior lighting, auto-dimming sides, and rearview mirrors, including auto-dimming rearview and side mirrors.
2022 Cadillac XT4 Engine
Cadillac follows the modern trend of using a turbocharged engine with a small capacity rather than a large, gas-guzzling V6. The car’s nature is ideally suited by the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-pot. The powertrain is smooth and delivers a very linear ride. It is mated with a nine-speed transmission that has a perfect combination of ratios.
It maximizes low-down torque, virtually eliminating turbo lag, and has plenty of gears for all other purposes. The engine is noisy. Although the NVH levels are promising, more could be done to reduce noise intrusion. A manual transmission is not possible on the XT4.

The GM Epsilon architecture is used in the XT. GM claims it allows engineers greater freedom to design interior and exterior spaces. It boasts a class-leading level of torsional rigidity which reduces body roll. It sounds sporty, but it isn’t. The 2022 Cadillac XT4 luxury cruiser is more refined than any other. However, the ride quality is poorer on rougher surfaces.
The optional 20-inch alloy wheels make it worse, so be aware if you’re looking to check that box. Although the brakes are excellent, the steering lacks any feeling. This is a significant problem, but it won’t matter to most people looking for luxury compact crossovers.
2022 Cadillac XT4 Release Date And Price

However, we feel the obligation to inform you about more expensive options. This luxury compact crossover is priced at more than $52k. This is deep in BMW X3 territory. A standard X3 sDrive30i starts at $43,000. A better comparison would be with the Acura RDX. It starts at $38,400 and can go up to $48k for a top-spec AWD model.
