New 2022 Cadillac XT4 Engine, Review, Specs
New 2022 Cadillac XT4 Engine, Review, Specs – The 2022 Cadillac XT4 crossover SUV is the smallest in a luxury lineup. As a result, it’s both the most compact and least expensive. Although it may be the lowest-priced SUV in the Cadillac lineup, the XT4 is an excellent example of Cadillac’s future plans. The equipment and suspension settings of the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport editions vary greatly.
The turbo-4 2.0-liter engine, rated at 237 HP, delivers power to the front wheels. All four are available for an additional $2,500. Standard equipment includes a 9-speed automatic transmission that provides confident and quick shifts. The fuel economy is excellent if anything, and there is no hybrid version.

Exterior Design
The standard LED headlights on all trims extend from the bumpers to the front and reach the fenders. The brand’s iconic crest-and–wreath badge is on the large grille, while the hood is dazzling with its angularity. The crossover’s side profile is simple and doesn’t have the trendy, plunging rooflines that might be associated with crossovers from a particular era. Instead, the XT4’s tiny dimensions are reinforced by the short overhangs at the rear. However, Cadillac’s tall taillights provide a nice cue from its rich past.

The 2022 Cadillac XT4 looks best in warm orange or red colors, rather than the black-coal-bin color or the dull grays that are likely to be found on dealer lots. Robin Kreig is the chief exterior designer. He affectionately refers to the XT4 as an “Escalade puppy.” It’s a metaphor for the work his team did to transform the best bits of Cadillac’s beefcake-inspired flagship into something more palatable, soft, playful, and softer. The stretched wheelbase and squat stance make the XT4 almost look like a puppy paw. Meanwhile, the vertical, chiseled LED lighting elements at the front and back strongly resemble the Escalade and the beloved CTS-V Wagon.
Interior Design
Although leather upholstery is an option, even standard synthetics have a durable and convincing feel. You can upgrade the power-adjustable front seat with heating and cooling, lumbar adjustment, and heating. We have enjoyed all-day comfort in the leather-clad seats that we have used. The rear seating can be used by two adults but may not work well for three. The generous 39.5-inch legroom allows two 6-footers to sit side by side, which we cannot say about coach class on most airlines.

The 2022 Cadillac XT4’s cargo area isn’t very spacious. With the back seat folded, there are 49 cubic feet of cargo space. The rear seat can also be used as a bench seat. The XT4 has a high-quality feel, with excellent doors, dash, and center console materials. It is comparable to similar-priced Japanese and German models. Standard equipment includes eight airbags, blind-spot monitors, and eight airbags in the XT4. We expect average outward vision due to the sizeable rear pillar and high window line. Standard equipment includes a rearview camera and a mirror that doubles as a display screen for a tailgate-mounted camera. This allows for unobstructed rearward vision, although it can be a bit quirky.
2022 Cadillac XT4 Engine
The 2022 Cadillac XT4 is compared against other vehicles, including those from other brands. Its 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine and 9-speed auto transmission are commonplace. The XT4 introduced a new machine to GM, and we hope it will stay. The XT4 is a 6 out of 10 due to its excellent engine and transmission. However, it does have a disadvantage for a high-tech braking mechanism that can sometimes be irritating.
The turbo-4’s 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet torque ratings are both impressive. It can accelerate from a stop quickly with minimal cabin intrusion after a bit of lag. The 9-speed automatic transmission is quick and makes use of all its cogs. The 2022 XT4 Sport’s adaptive dampers are effective in controlling the XT4 when it encounters bumpy terrain. Standard shocks are fitted to Luxury and Premium Luxury trims. They provide a smooth, controlled ride.

The XT4 uses an electronic braking system to reduce engine stress. Although it may save fuel, it can cause jerky maneuvers around town and a loss of pedal feel. The XT4 can be fitted with an all-wheel-drive system, which makes it a slushy weather trooper. But it is not a rock-crawler. You can leave the part-time system in fuel-saving mode with two wheels. This mode requires a double tap to switch into all-weather mode. Drivers may forget to do this until the front wheels spin in a snowstorm. Sport mode transfers more power from the rear wheels to the XT4 Sport, more like a rear-wheel-drive crossover.
